Encana Events Centre welcomes back ice
Ice is being made and will be ready for Friday!
On January 5, the ice plant here at the Encana Events Centre was started as the staff here at the building started to prep the arena surface.
Today, it looks like a hockey rink as the lines are painted, logos were added and there is a significant temperature drop in the building. There is still more work to do as we prepare to welcome the ice user groups to the Centre on Friday.
Interested in coming down to see? Below is the schedule of the ice users for the next week including when the Ovations Concessions will be open. So far we will see figure skating, speed skating and numerous hockey organizations.
For any of the ice users or spectators, there will be a change of entrance. We will have the entrance for the arena go through the 'B' Doors. Below is a map of the venue so you can see where you can enter the building.
We invited CJDC TV to stop down to check out the progress of the ice making yesterday and included is an interview with Global Spectrum's Ryan MacIvor, General Manager of the Encana Events Centre.
Another addition is the Walking Track has updated hours of operation that include now being open 7 days a week - Head over to the Walking Track Schedule page to see the new hours.
If you have any questions about the schedule or the Memorial Arena, please contact the City of Dawson Creek. Information can be found at www.dawsoncreek.ca or on the City of Dawson Creek Facebook page.
