Conversations with Jennie - Chatting about life, death and everything in between
Interview by Judy Kucharuk
Have you ever met someone and thought to yourself, “I feel like I have known you all my life!”. That is how I feel about Jennie Ogilvie, Canada’s Unconventional Medium - Psychic Medium and most recently, author of “Inside My Head: Messages from a Medium”.
Speaking with Jennie over the phone about her upcoming tour date September 21st at Co-op Mercer Hall, I found myself curling up my legs criss-cross applesauce on my office chair, popping the phone on speaker and diving into the conversation – planning on some girl talk. Please note mere moments into the conversation, I did get a charlie-horse from my ‘criss-cross applesauce’ position and abandoned it for the sake of my ability to rise from the chair post-interview. It was all good.
When Jennie toured in Dawson Creek in 2022, we were just climbing out of the Covid fog, and it was one of the first times folks were all together in a room without masks. A perfect opportunity to connect with those both physically and spiritually.
Jennie brought IT! The laughter was plentiful, the commentary sometimes irreverent, but always Jennie delivered what she felt rather than what we, the audience, might have wanted to hear. That is important to mention because energy is fluid and Jennie’s goal is to connect you to energy. “You are the one that makes it possible for me to sense your loved ones. Their energy is carried by you”
Did everyone receive a reading? No, that would have been impossible. Did everyone leave the event remembering a loved one or feeling validated in how they have been navigating a loss? Yes, most definitely.
I asked her, “Is the 2024 Jennie different from the 2022 Jennie?”. She responded, “Absolutely! I am leaning back into my river and floating”, reiterating, “I am not out here for everyone to like me”.
Laughing and remembering that Jennie tells it like it is and does not hold back, I asked her who should attend. “Trust your gut. If it has crossed your mind, you are meant to attend. Come and sit with no expectations except the ability to be ‘present’ for the experience.”
“Grief is something that we all must walk through and is different for everyone. Grief can teach you new things – it can be a destination. We put a lot of emphasis and impact on the loss of the physical person, but the reality is that love isn’t physical – it is a feeling. How do we change our perspective?”
Don’t take my word for it! Join us on September 21st where Jennie has us “Laughing and Crying. Repeat!” Chatting about Life and death and everything in between!
